The results of the selection of applications for the 6th edition of the ‘Composing Commissions’ programme were published, by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, on 10 March 2017. The programme is managed by the Instytut Muzyki i Tańca (Institute of Music and Dance).

The Minister selected 73 projects to be granted the total amount of PLN 2,070,500 as financial support. The Ministry’s support is awarded to the Applicants and distributed among the artists’ fees and the costs involved in the premiere performances of the compositions (with multiple performances also possible).

If a submitted application was not granted the financial support, but it still scored 50 points or more during the assessment process, the Applicant may lodge an appeal, until 20 March 2017, through the EBOI system (https://esp.mkidn.gov.pl/).

The ‘Composing Commissions’ programme was announced by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage on 20 October 2016. Its aim is to create new musical works, their premiere performances, promotion and availability in the public domain, and also their practical application as tools of cultural and artistic education. In the five editions of the Programme that have taken place thus far, there were 448 new works commissioned from 257 composers (from Poland and abroad).
