Aleksander Lasoń

(*1951)

Composer, pianist and conductor, representative of the so-called Stalowa Wola Generation. Lasoń’s music strongly resounds with parallels between present-day composing techniques and a postmodern language founded on ongoing modal research. Lasoń’s showcase is his dark, euphonic timbre, interjected with glimmering glissandos and melismas achieved through the fusion of traditional and processed sounds. Apart from its stylistics, Lasoń’s music is deeply expressive and strongly emotional. (AM)
