Alicja Gronau

(*1957)

Music theoretician and pedagogue, one of the most intriguing Polish composers. Her theoretical background, combined with a comprehensive reception of music, add to Gronau’s expertise in both recognizing the old orders of music and movement, and creating their new successors. Gronau’s syncretic oeuvre results from her research in the fields of rhythm, improvisation, and the expressive potential of coexisting art forms. (AM)
