Artur Cieślak
(*1968)
Composer, pianist, pedagogue and music critic. He began his career as a concert musician and then turned to composing which now constitutes the main field of his activity. Cieślak writes chamber and solo works, in particular for piano. His inspirations range from spectralism to minimalism and postmodernism, enabling him to forge a unique musical language and sound system. Cieślak’s oeuvre is rich with references to classical forms, among others the concertante form, as well as allusions to the music of earlier epochs, although he tries to avoid direct quotations and associations.
