Ewa Trębacz

(*1973)

Composer and intermedia artist. Exploring space in music and the unique interaction between the musician and their acoustic environment, Trębacz gives prominence to reverberation, spatial aspects of music and acoustically unique sound effects. Employing ambisonics, she records music in a particular space and overlapping such recordings on live performances, creating an illusory continuum between real and synthetic spaces. Trębacz applies similar, illusory strategies to audiovisual compositions to modulate the depth of stereoscopic images. (KS)
