Grzegorz Duchnowski

(*1971)

Composer. His oeuvre essentially includes large-scale vocal and instrumental and vocal sacral forms. His orchestral works refer to the tradition of monumental 19th and 20th century symphonies, emotionally charged and sparingly clear in terms of their harmonic structure. Duchnowski’s chamber and electroacoustic compositions are marked with subtle experiments with timbres. His inspirations include fractal computer graphics, which he translates onto the musical planes e.g. in the way he arranges musicians on stage and through the sonic microstructures of his own making.
