Jakub Polaczyk

(*1983)

Composer and pianist. Although inspired by the surrounding reality, he ventures to originally rearrange familiar elements, including musical ones. Polaczyk’s compositions explore various modes of temporal perceptions, as he infuses them with non-European ways of temporal organization or with several parallel temporal planes. His music is thoroughly informed by rituals, and some of his works act as gateways to meditative spaces. Equally important to Polaczyk’s oeuvre is its narrative, quasi-theatrical character. (KS)
