Jarosław Płonka
(*1984)
Composer and cellist. In his music he tries to look for new timbres by expanding sound production techniques utilized in individual instruments. He draws his inspirations from the world of electronic music. Płonka’s pieces include musical analogies of various types of distorted sounds, rustles and smacks, e.g. jammed audiotape – all of them produced by acoustic instruments. The harmonies of his work verge beyond equal temperament, combining diatonic or chromatic components with microtonality. (KS)
