Composer and pianist; studied with Tadeusz Baird. Kornowicz is a postmodernist who follows his own path off the beaten track of the music vanguard and maintains a somewhat casual approach to tradition. His compositions are a highly intuitive mixture of various conventions and aesthetics, and pervaded with experiments with sound sources and improvisations. Kornowicz’s music amounts to an uninhibited interplay of sounds and associations. (AM)
