Joanna Bruzdowicz-Tittel
(*1943)
Composer, pianist, essayist, organizer of music events. Active chiefly outside of the country, Tittel has earned her reputation as an author of stage works devoted to important social and ethical issues. Her extensive oeuvre spans solo works, chamber and orchestral pieces, electroacoustic and film music, and most of all vocal and instrumental works. Her inspiration often comes from literature, and her musical language transformed from one initially influenced by Neoclassicism with strong echoes of sonorism into a combination of rapid expression, lyricism and somber reflection on the human fate.
