Composer, accordionist and pedagogue. His oeuvre includes numerous solo, chamber and orchestral works, many of them featuring the accordion. Characteristic of Olczak’s technique is the presentation of short, disjointed melodic themes against the background of standing chords. Olczak often employs citations, which emerge gradually in the course of his works. (KS)
