Composer, producer, video artist. Aside from autonomous music, Pieprzyk also writes for film and composes audiovisual works. His oeuvre strays from the contemporary mainstream – Pieprzyk eagerly turns to traditionally defined melody and tonalising harmony, also making references to stereotypical Celtic music. His pieces are founded on motoric rhythmics underscored by numerous repetitions. Pieprzyk’s compositions are emotionally charged, at times to the degree of pomposity which he achieves by conferring a special significance onto brass and percussion instruments. (KS)
