Magdalena Długosz

(*1954)

Composer, pedagogue, one of leading composers of electroacoustic music in Poland. Her oeuvre is dominated by compositions for tape and pieces for solo acoustic instruments or chamber ensembles accompanied by electronics. Długosz frequently turns to acoustic instruments recordings as resource with which she later interacts. Her compositions touch upon the problems of live electroacoustic music performances, stressing the crucial interpretational role of the sound engineer. (EC)
