Marcin Błażewicz

(*1953)

Composer, pedagogue, organizer and artistic director of numerous music events, founder of the “Muzyka 21” periodical. Having studied philosophy, Błażewicz has been particularly inspired by the philosophical thought of the Far East. In his activity as pedagogue, he pays great attention to the development of composing skills. Characteristically diverse in terms of aesthetics, instrumentation, and genres, Błażewicz’s oeuvre includes orchestral works and solo concerts, as well as percussion music. His dark, densely textured compositions are frequently imbued with unrest. (EC)
