Marcin Bortnowski

Composer and pedagogue; writes for various instrumental ensembles, using computer-generated sounds. The specific, melancholic ambience of Bortnowski’s music is frequently reflected by the poetic titles of his pieces.  Bortnowski predominantly composes  atonal works, at times interweaving it with tonal references, quasi-quotations from the music of earlier epochs, yet he avoids timbre experiments, focusing on the melody and complex texture.
