Michał Dobrzyński

(*1980)

Composer. He has written solo, chamber and orchestral pieces, sometimes accompanied by electronics – Dobrzyński employs such solutions as the idea of spatial sculpture. His oeuvre also includes performing arts music (including his projects with the Warsaw Chamber Opera), vocal and instrumental pieces to texts by Reiner Maria Rilke and Witold Gombrowicz, as well as liturgical texts, some of them in the Kashubian language. Dobrzyński’s compositions are marked with strong expression, highlighted by contrasts in timbre intensity and narrative pace. (EC)
