Mikołaj Górecki

Composer, violinist and pianist; studied with Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. In his own words, the originality of present-day music stems from the adequate approach to tradition – a postulate Górecki adopts by respecting the past styles and remaining aware of his own heritage. In Górecki’s music, melancholy and contemplative reflection are symbiotic with lively energy and folkloristic inspirations, openly referring to tonality and shaping into images founded on extensive sound planes.
