Olga Hans

(*1971)

Composer and music theoretician. Aware of the achievements of contemporary music, Hans propagates a reversal of roles through the emancipation of background instruments. Flirting with neoclassicism, her compositions manifest a creative approach to traditional forms and a thorough knowledge of electronic music in an exploration of sound potential of percussion and brass instruments. Despite her predilection for avant-garde, Hans’s music remains substantially gentle. (AM)
