Paweł Buczyński
(*1953)
Composer and pedagogue, representative of the so-called “New Romanticism”. Filled with references to classical forms and Romantic expression, his oeuvre never abandons contemporary composing techniques. Human voice – recitation, solo and choir singing, as well as a capella renditions – constitutes a vital element of Buczyński’s compositions, along with the meaning carried through words. His rich body of work includes reflexive compositions, which he oft supplies with melancholic titles, as well as serious and gloomy pieces and some rather light-hearted works. (EC)
