Piotr Tabakiernik

(*1986)

Composer. The soundscape of his works stems from spectral analysis and harmonic series as well as the attendant microtonality. Tabakiernik’s interest in shamanism and his predilection for instrumental theatre endow his compositions with unique qualities. Those performing Tabakiernik’s pieces seem as if they were reviving long-forgotten rituals, in which obsessive loops, theatrical gestures, astounding sound effects, radio recordings and decomposed texts come together as a complex system of mutual references.
