Przemysław Zych
(*1980)
Composer, conductor, pedagogue. Zych frequently refers to the musical tradition and familiar styles but distorts them in a typically postmodern fashion, blending them with components of present-day composing techniques. He often turns to tonal harmonies, minimalist repetitions and rhythmic ostinatos. Zych’s oeuvre often utilizes the two-part form, within which the latter part takes up and develops the themes exposed in the former part. Crucial to his music is also the concept of a stretched, increasingly static temporal-musical relation. (KS)
