Romuald Twardowski

Composer and teacher. His musical language is extensively based on traditional references, including the music from very distant times – the medieval plainchant or even the Byzantine music. However, the musician has not entirely rejected contemporary techniques of composition; he uses them to write very personal and emotional works. His music frequently draws on literature and poetry. A large part of the composer’s vast output is dedicated to sacred music, with and without instruments, as well as stage works – operas and musical dramas. (EC)
