Ryszard Gabryś

Composer, music theoretician, pedagogue, essayist and animator of music. His comprehensive oeuvre is headlined by vocal and vocal and instrumental compositions (songs, psalms, cantatas) written to religious texts springing from the Protestant tradition and inspired by poetry and folklore of such regions as Cieszyn Silesia and the Beskidy Mountains. Gabryś is the author of paratheatrical projects and happenings. his musical language is marked by strong expression and combines the influences of the avant-guarde, sonorism, traditions of the past epochs and folk music, and often includes ancient forms and atypical instruments.
