Sławomir Wojciechowski

(*1971)

Composer, publicist and translator. An avowed modernist, his understanding of the current principally concerns its aesthetics rather than resources. Wojciechowski also emphasizes the social dimension of music, which he implements e.g. by holding contemporary music workshops for non-professionals. His pieces are built of atomized acoustic effects, where hisses and cracks prevail over sounds. At the same time, Wojciechowski’s music is so densely filled with various effects that its narratives remain dynamic and head swiftly towards concrete soundscapes. (KS)
