Prasqual
(*1981)
Composer, conductor and pianist. His oeuvre is filled with references to mythological motifs and touches upon such universal and archetypal themes as the antithesis of death and light. Praszczałek’s music is thoroughly ritualistic. Vital to his musical language are microtonality and electronics, which he uses to complement instrumental parts while operating with the same musical material. Praszczałek particularly treasures the concept space, in which he embeds his music as if it was a sculpture, a fixed shape whose reception changes depending on the listener’s perspective. (KS)
