Włodek Pawlik

(*1958)

Pianist, composer and pedagogue. He has written for film, theater and radio plays, and composed jazz and classical pieces. His autonomous works compound jazz harmonies and rhythms with such classical ensembles as the string orchestra or Gregorian schola. Prominent in Pawlik’s compositions is the piano part along with its quasi-improvised melodic lines . Also characteristic of Pawlik’s music are its clear motoric qualities along with a marked inclination for syncopation and rhythmically sequential motifs. (KS)
