Wojciech Ziemowit Zych

(*1976)

Composer and pedagogue. Neither a modernist, nor a traditionalist, Zych follows his own creative path, marked out using various composing techniques and styles which he combines indirectly into distant echoes of the musical past. Zych deliberately reduces his sound resources but maximizes the potential of short tonal motifs and consonances based on selected intervals, which he then processes to arrive at immensely focused music. Although sometimes intertwined with emotional eruptions, Zych’s works never lose their introvert, meditative quality. (KS)
