Zaid Jabri
(*1975)
Damascus-born violinist and composer; studied with Zbigniew Bujarski and Krzysztof Penderecki. His musical outlook has been shaped by being simultaneously steeped in the European and Middle-Eastern culture, which synthesized into original colors and harmonics. Jabri’s music has grown on the debris of the major and minor system, using exotic microtonality and shedding the constraints of any single composing technique and enabling him to express crucial aesthetic values: lyricism, emotional saturation, and changeability.
