Zbigniew Bagiński
(*1949)
Composer and pedagogue. His oeuvre is diverse, both in terms of instrumentation and ambience, and makes frequent references to tradition. Bagiński’s compositions echo with Neoromantic symphonies and influences dating back to earlier epochs. His pieces are also rooted in folk music and jazz. Bagiński’s vocal and instrumental works refer to liturgical texts and 20th century Polish literature. He pays special attention to the structure of his compositions, frequently employing segments and montage to juxtapose dissimilar styles. (EC)
