Zygmunt Krauze
(*1938)
Composer and pianist; studied with Kazimierz Skorski. Critic Andrzej Chłopecki dubbed him a “detached” artist who consistently strays from the dominant music milieus and trends in Poland. Krauze’s compositions include a wide range of genres and styles, from cooperations with architects and spatial music, the transfer of unism from painting onto music, through roots music and performance. Krauze eagerly employs both traditional and innovative means of expression, including his original concept of prepared piano. (AM)
