Andrzej Dutkiewicz

(*1942)

Composer, pianist, pedagogue. He has recorded a number of interpretations of contemporary music, both solo and as a member of the Grupa XX ensemble, which he has cofounded and directed.  Dutkiewicz’ s body of work includes chiefly solo and chamber pieces which frequently enable performers to showcase their abilities in lively virtuoso parts. His music tends to be nostalgic and evokes the memories of times past, which the composer intertwines with excerpts of unease and internal tension. (EC)
