Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz

(*1955)

Composer and pedagogue. Gołosz’s oeuvre shifts its emphasis from melody and harmony towards timbre, dynamics and articulation. She uses these factors to develop her own form, harmonies and counterpoints of timbre and articulation. Minimizing the role of temporally developing harmonies and melodics, Gołosz focuses her attention on other dimensions of music and thus creates an illusion of space in which sound flows interchangeably closer to and further from the listener, changing its pitch and depth. Gołosz also tends to transcend equal temperament and apply spectral consonances. (KS)
