Eunho Chang

(*1983)

Composer and pianist born in South Korea. He graduated in composition from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he currently teaches. Although the language of his compositions is deeply rooted in the Western avant-garde and contemporary techniques, Chang draws his main inspiration from traditional Korean music. References to tradition, including Oriental painting, appear in his music as concepts – gestures, patterns, and colors of Korean art translated into music. His oeuvre includes solo and chamber compositions, as well as orchestral, choir and stage works. (EC)
