Jan Oleszkowicz
(*1947)
Composer and pedagogue. An author of a number of electroacoustic works, he has cooperated with the Polish Radio Experimental Studio for many years. Characteristically, Oleszkowicz’s acoustic works also evoke electronics. The composer is noted for dense clusters of sounds which through a delicate shifts in individual parts resemble grainy electronic tones . Oleszkowicz likewise applies single sounds to imitate the timbre of simple tones. He frequently operates with static sound plans embedded in the slow process of formal development. (KS)
