Michał Jakub Papara

(*1984)

Composer and music theoretician. He pays particular attention to the organization of musical time, and his compositions tend to follow several independent temporal plans. Papara’s compositions amount to a string of energetic processes – tensions, culminations, couplings and shorts. Papara sets his short motifs with standing sounds, producing surprising sparks. Still, all of these processes take time to develop, as Papara’s music allows significant room for echo, resonance, and fading sounds. (KS)
