Stanisław Moryto

(*1947, +2018)

Composer, organist, pedagogue. His music is audibly tied to both classical and 20th century traditions, and resounds with the echoes of neoclassicism, impressionism, Gregorian chant, and Renaissance polyphony. Crucial to Moryto is the counterpoint technique, likely related to his activity as organist. Despite the wide array of techniques and references, Moryto’s works are characteristically concise and sparing. (KS)
