Cezary Duchnowski

(*1971)

Composer, pianist, co-founder of numerous multimedia projects and art groups. His music is typified by the employment of highly advanced electronic systems in the composing process in combination with acoustic instruments. He finds live performances to be the vital aspect of composition and frequently injects his works with improvisation. Duchnowski pays particular attention to new sounds, which he perceives as the chief carrier of emotions in music. The very titles and concepts behind his pieces sound enticingly intriguing, in particular when accompanied by the creative ways in which his improvisations feed off of unexpected audience reactions.
